The idea of a park in Embassy Hills, long neglected by the county, was a welcome breath of fresh air. Unfortunately, it has turned into the usual Pasco County disaster. After three months of construction and no end in sight it has become an eyesore.
First, the county did not fence off the area. This has led to use of the "park" long before it is completed. What little grass that has been planted was destroyed by cars parking all over it. Most of the beautiful bushes and other plants are dead or dying because they are not watered. Graffiti covers the playground equipment. Some of the equipment is already ruined by some overgrown children, 15- and 16-year-olds, who think it is their personal property.
Once again all Pasco residents will foot the bill because of lax county involvement. Why isn't the Sheriff's Office more involved here?
Close off this "park" until it is ready to be opened and then for God's sake let the county protect the people's investment with oversight and patrols.
