NEW PORT RICHEY -- Flag Day ceremonies in honor of the Stars and Stripes are planned for Saturday at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital and Morgan Funeral Home.
The public is invited to the free Morton Plant North Bay fourth annual celebration from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the hospital, 6600 Madison St.
U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis, R-Palm Harbor, and state Sen. Mike Fasano, R-New Port Richey, are scheduled to appear.
American Legion Paradise Post 79 will present the colors. A Gulf High School student will sing the national anthem and "God Bless America."
At 10 a.m. Saturday, the public can participate in the free annual celebration of the American flag at Morgan Funeral Home, 6025 Trouble Creek Road.
Members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Chester McKay Post 7987, in Seven Springs, will demonstrate the proper way to retire a flag. Danish and coffee will be served.
