This is in response to the flawed statement made by Connie Perdue in her letter to the editor. She wrote, "Bush is the greatest president in my lifetime, and I am 74 years old."
I am 78 and remember all the presidents from Roosevelt and on. Bush has the lowest rating ever for a sitting president for good reason – he attacked another country. He has one of the most corrupt administrations since Tammany Hall and he managed to kill more than 4,100 of our youth.
I was in the Korean War, and war is hell. Believe it. All the armchair warriors ought to go for a year and see how they like it. Cheney had five deferments during Vietnam, and Bush was being protected by his daddy and his position.
As to the matter of respect for the office of president, there has never been so much philandering in any administration.
Perdue wrote "Bush says what he believes what he says." So do the people who say 2+2=5. They are still dead wrong.
