It is absolutely astounding that Republicans continue to tout "family values" as a hallmark of their party. If this were true, under which family value do they list torture of suspected terrorists, many of whom are completely innocent?

If Republicans believe in family values, under which do they list our war of aggression against Iraq? Under which value do they list arrest and imprisonment of people without legal representation?

In recent years, the hypocrisy of Republicans has reached the point of absurdity. They claim virtue but are engrossed by the words of a lunatic fringe of homophobic religious leaders and arrogant, egotistic media people.

Our country is on the verge of a massive moral and political overhaul. American moral standards and moral leadership in the world have plummeted under George Bush, Dick Cheney and their Republican supporters, who have peddled fear of terrorism as an excuse for the immoral laws and illegal practices they have forced on Americans.

We can only hope that America's moral renewal will be strong enough to prevent dishonest, pandering warmongers, like those in the present administration, from ever again entering public office at any level.
