HOLIDAY -- With health insurance premiums rising and the cost of health care on the same path, Holiday Pharmacy is offering high quality prescription medications at costs lower than pharmacy chains.

The business recently opened its doors at 2537 U.S. 19, between Sunray Drive and Darlington Road.

Four pharmacists are on-staff offering 40 years of knowledge within the pharmaceutical industry.

Currently, the full service pharmacy is offering about 100 medications that cost $1 per prescription. By competing with large retailers they also offer more than 400 prescription drugs for $4. They have worked with their supplier to guarantee this pricing structure.

Pharmacist Shawn Patel said of the $1 prescription offer, "We simply choose not to profit from these medications."

The list of FDA approved medications includes preventative medications as well as treatments for chronic conditions and diseases such as dental problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, infections, depression, pain and inflammatory disorders.

Other services being offered are 15-minute filling of prescriptions and free delivery of prescription medications in the Holiday area.

In addition, the pharmacy accepts up to 95 percent of major insurance plans and workers' compensation.

The pharmacy specializes in Medicare Part D and will work with individuals who have exhausted their benefits for the calendar year.

Holiday Pharmacy hours are 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday. Call the pharmacy at 727-491-6446.
