TRINITY -- You can call these teens a GREAT bunch of kids.
More than a dozen students took part Friday in the Pasco Sheriff's Office Gang Resistance Education and Training group to rid the area of spray-painted graffiti on area buildings.
GREAT members, students on summer vacation, sacrificed some of their free time and stood under a hot, summer sun to spruce up the community.
School resource officers from the Sheriff's Office ferried numerous teen volunteers from county summer camps to four locations in the area, spokesman Kevin Doll explained.
Sgt. Kurt Pinto, Cpl. Mike McKnight and other officers ushered the group to sites such as a former service station on Little Road at St. Lawrence Drive. Another stop took them to the former Service Merchandise store on U.S. 19 near Jasmine Boulevard.
The Salvation Army, Target and Lowe's donated goods and services for the cause.
