McCain has shown, despite his misguided concerns about manmade global warming, that he has common sense and a realistic vision for American energy independence. Both parties support the governmental development of alternative energies, but McCain, unlike Obama and many Democrats, supports domestic drilling and nuclear power. Nuclear power should be a no-brainer for environmentalists since it puts out literally nothing in terms of emissions.
France uses nuclear reactors to produce about 80 percent of its power, yet the U.S. runs only about 20 percent of its power on nuclear. Why? Both McCain and Obama are wrong on global warming alarmism, but McCain is right to support nuclear power and domestic drilling, and it shows that he is not a global warming zombie.
I'd also like to applaud columnist Charley Reese for calling out Sen. Obama on his leftist, unconstitutional positions concerning the Second Amendment. Reese is right in pointing out that this "right of the people to keep and bear arms" is for protection, not hunting.
Responsible citizens must be allowed to own firearms to defend themselves, or the criminals will be the only ones to have them – besides the police, who usually show up after the crime occurs.
