HUDSON -- A suspect in a July 1 bank robbery in the Hudson area turned himself into authorities Tuesday, according to a Pasco Sheriff's Office arrest report and court warrant released today.
Cecil Thomas Hurley, 37, faces a felony charge of armed robbery for the holdup at the SunTrust bank branch at 7612 S.R. 52, the report shows. Bail was set at $50,000. His last known address had been listed as 9127 Seeley Lane in the Hudson area.
Hurley is accused of handing a holdup note to a bank teller, according to court documents. The note read, "I need $5,000.00 now. I have a gun."
Surveillance photos publicized in newspapers led to an anonymous tip that Hurley was the suspect.
Hurley's work vehicle, reported stolen, was recovered July 4. Deputy Jose Valenzuela of the Pasco Sheriff's Office located inside the truck the note described by the bank teller.
Hurley, a registered sex offender, had not been at home since the day of the robbery in violation of registration requirements.
