Does Charley Reese ever not hype? – and get it wrong, at that.
Reese wrote in a recent op-ed page column about the "current crisis in the American economy."
Doom-and-gloom alert: there is no "crisis." Problems, yes – a few people are losing their homes; we carry too much debt; a few people are out of work. But in the big picture, the economy has been going gangbusters for six years or so.
And do you notice that the people who always tell us about the "defects" of capitalism tend to complain about the cycles – boom and bust, if you want to put it that way – but don't tell us what economic system would be better?
Maybe they don't because they can't.
