In response to John Mooney's letter on Dec. 29, contrary to his assumption that evolution is fact and the Bible only religious, he should know that evolution is, as the scientific world claims, merely a "theory."
If we really considered evolution, and its achievements through time, we would question the possibility of plants and primitive creatures obtaining organs, and limbs, as well as eyes, ears and smell, to advance to a higher level. How can a lesser creature know that one of these additions is needed to improve their ability to exist, or maneuver?
The Bible tells us that the creation was done in six periods and not six 24-hour days. It also tells us that there were giant creatures in the world during this creation, and various incidents occurred during and after each of these periods.
Any intelligent person would compare facts and theory and consider evolution by its merits, and be willing to accept logic as fact regardless of where it is found.
This guidance and direction must have come from someone who could arrange a procedure and then permit that procedure to evolve, the Bible refers to this person as God.
