Appalling Waste

I am appalled at the lack of effective recycling in this area. I spent the summer in Nova Scotia, where glass, metals, plastic of all kinds, paper, and food scraps were all recycled. The un-recycled trash for two people was a little plastic supermarket bag per week. All the items were collected on one day once a week.
In Philadelphia, where I live most of the year, recycling includes paper, plastic 1 & 2, metals, and glass. Also, once a week all on one day.
I hope that this area starts more effective recycling soon, even at the cost of going to once per week collection.
