I would like to share my perspective on why Congress has neglected its duty to our taxpayers. Congress needs to work on bipartisan bills that would free taxpayers from the incremental encroachment of the federal government.
Unfortunately, we are forced into a system in which we have to pay taxes for almost everything that affects our daily lives, for example federal income and Social Security taxes and state and local property taxes.
The death tax needs to be abolished. It is absurd that when we die the IRS totals up estates and in return denies the heirs their full inheritance.
The problem lies with our dysfunctional Congress. With the help of lobbyists it practices the illegitimate business of using tax dollars to dispense an abundance of pork-barrel goodies.
Taxpayers should pressure Congress to pass legislation to abolish the death tax and taxes on savings, investment and capital gains. Furthermore, it is time for Congress to make President Bush's tax rate cuts permanent.
Let us remind ourselves that wealth is created by the working class, not socialistic government.
