Charley Reese has such disdain for corporate executives he is blaming them for unaffordable food prices. Instead, look to our "Ethanol Worshipping" lawmakers, who passed a hideous Energy Bill and who have given more than $37 billion in corn subsidies since 1995.
The price of a dozen eggs is now $2 and a gallon of milk is approaching $5. Instead of growing corn for human consumption it is more profitable to grow it for ethanol.
By the way, if there is a gas station selling ethanol on the Suncoast, I haven't seen it.
As for natural resources, known oil reserves are growing with the find of new fields such as the one off Brazil's coast and the fact that fields off Louisiana are producing more than when first discovered because they are now tapping into an earlier geological age.
There is plenty of oil to be had if we just had the guts to get it. You know how to spell "energy independence"?
It's "D R I L L."
Greedy executives are only greedy because the politicians give them goodies in exchange for contributions. Our government was not founded to be run by lobbyists and life-long politicians.
