HUDSON, Fla. - HUDSON, Fla. - Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point has chosen Fran Wrona as its recipient of the Employee of the Year Award.
Wrona, PBX supervisor for the hospital, has served Regional for 17 years.
The PBX, or public branch exchange, is the hospital's telephone system.
According to her staff and peers, Wrona consistently "goes above and beyond" to serve hospital patients, visitors, physicians, colleagues and volunteers, according to a press release from Kurt Conover, business development manager.
She never hesitates to walk a visitor to the proper waiting room. She frequently buys newspapers for patients needing immediate assistance and toys for children who are sitting in the hospital waiting room.
She contributes her own time and money to the many charitable causes Regional supports.
In her supervisory role, Wrona keeps the staff updated on changes in phone system processes, policies, and equipment, even if it means coming in at midnight to work with operators on the night shift.
The Regional Medical Center Rewards and Recognition Team reviewed the nominations of all the 2007 Quarterly Excellence winners to bestow the honor on Wrona. She received financial compensation, a plaque, a special parking pass and other acknowledgments.
