NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. - NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. - Pasco-Hernando Community College will be among 50 sites participating in the statewide College Goal Sunday event 2 - 4 p.m. on Feb. 24.
College Goal Sunday was created by the Indiana Student Financial Aid Association. It received funding from the Lilly Endowment and supplemental support from the Lumina Foundation for Education, both based in Indianapolis.
College Goal Sunday is designed to help cut through some of the red tape for low-income and first-generation-in-college students and help them apply for financial aid.
PHCC financial aid advisors will be available to help college-bound students and their families complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, form. The event will take place at the New Port Richey campus in rooms C-205 and D-104.
The same will be done at the PHCC Brooksville campus, 11415 Ponce De Leon Blvd., in the McKethan Library, Room C-127; and at the Dade City campus, 36727 Blanton Road, Room A-240.
Those interested in applying for college financial aid must bring tax and income information for 2007, photo ID, Social Security card and proof of legal residency status. Spanish interpreters will be available during the event at all campus locations.
A $500 scholarship drawing will be held at each campus for students who attend the event.
