From my perspective, Barack Obama's presidential leadership could threaten our fundamental rights as taxpayers.
I am increasingly concerned about how his economic advisers will govern us the next four years.
Will Obama, as president, choose to serve his agenda in a bipartisan manner? Let us review his central strategic decisions, starting with his $700 billion economic stimulus package. Will he use the economic crisis as an excuse to advance an ambitious socialist agenda?
I respect the fact that our government should play a pivotal role in overseeing budget functions such as defense, homeland security and disaster relief. I disagree, however, with any multibillion-dollar bailout for the Big Three Detroit automakers. I suggest the new president force their executive and board members, along with wealthy union leaders, to bail out their own companies before asking us taxpayers for money. Perhaps Obama could contribute money from his campaign fund? Don't count in it.
