Chasco Fiesta Talent Search Auditions Slated For Jan. 3

NEW PORT RICHEY - "American Idol," move over! Local singers, dancers, musicians, bands, comedians and other performers age 5 to 25 are invited to audition for the annual Chasco Fiesta Talent Search showcase.

Aspiring stars must sign up now for the 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, auditions at the Richey Suncoast Theatre, 6237 Grand Blvd.

The top finalists will perform in concert at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 22, at Sims Park during Chasco Fiesta.

Fiesta officials and SBray Productions will team up to present the 7th annual auditions. Entertainment professionals will score the contestants to determine who advances to the showcase concert in March.

Finalists also will take part in music business consultations, professional photo shoots and much more.

Contestants must first register by going online to www.sbray.com> and then click on the "Talent Search" link in the right-hand list for more information and applications.

Once an application is complete, contestants must schedule an audition appointment by sending an e-mail to chasco@westpasco.com or calling 727-842-7651.

Contestants must bring a completed application, music on CDs only to the audition and deliver a performance 3 minutes long.

Pasco's largest festival will run March 19-29. The festival benefits more than 30 local, nonprofit organizations, including Lighthouse for the Blind, Sertoma Speech & Hearing, Gulf High School, United Way of Pasco, Alzheimer's Family Organization and many more.
