NEW PORT RICHEY - The smell of cookies wafted through the air Tuesday at Gulfside Regional Hospice offices as volunteers packaged cookies for Gulfside patients.
More than 30 volunteers participated here and in Dade City, according to Ashley Mann, community relations coordinator for the nonprofit agency.
Both volunteers and staff had baked their favorite holiday cookies for Gulfside's patients.
After the packaging event, Gulfside nurses and staff on Wednesday picked up the holiday goodies to distribute to more than 350 patients they visit throughout Pasco County.
"The annual holiday cookie distribution illustrates the wonderful spirit our volunteers and staff have for our patients," Lisa Bricker, vice president of development, said in a press release.
"This year, there were so many cookies baked that Gulfside will be distributing the extras to our business partners in the community."
