Regarding, as you reported in your Nov. 15 edition, the Florida Department of Transportation's plan to create "continuous right-turn lanes" along U.S. 19 in West Pasco, the name is wrong. They will be continuous passing lanes.
Everyone who drives U.S. 19 knows the weavers, who constantly change lanes to move faster. The addition of any continuous lane will give them another opportunity to weave.
This, in turn, will add another reason for accidents when a passer moving 15 miles above the speed limit hits a driver turning into the misnamed turning lane.
