Your recommendation of Pasco County Commission District 3 incumbent Ann Hildebrand, based on her "involvement on numerous public and private boards" is commendable but not a basis for her continuing for a seventh term.

I have been involved in many civic and fraternal organizations and fought for the people of Pasco and Florida on issues such as the homeowner's insurance crisis. I have advocated for the people at both the county and state level, all on my own dime, not while being paid as a public servant. If elected, I would be even more active in various public and private boards and issues.

Newly elected officials have the ability to look at issues in a different light than those who have been in office for many years and look at things as "business as usual." Times have changed and we need leaders who can think outside the box, using common sense and rational thinking, to look to the future of our county and state with open and innovative thinking.

Having a diversified background, I can bring much insight into almost every aspect of the job, especially having an extensive knowledge of overseeing commercial construction, being involved in bidding processes and ability to read and understand blueprints. I bring a knowledge of working within our county system and advocating at the state level for the people of Florida.

I have no ties to "big money," as so many of our elected officials seem to. I decided to run because I have a burning desire to help the people - the little person, the small business owner, the young and the elderly alike - of our great county.

My opponent was to have retired a few years back, but keeps coming back. Now it's "her seventh and final term." Enough is enough. When does it end? Times have changed and we need to change with them with a new set of eyes and a vision for the future of Pasco County.
