NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. - NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. - Gov. Charlie Crist will be the main speaker at the CARES annual Benefit and Recognition Dinner.
At the Monday, Sept. 24, banquet, CARES will honor the governor for his concern about elder residents.
This will be Crist's first visit to Pasco County since he was elected governor last November.
State Sen. Mike Fasano, R-New Port Richey, and Dr. Rao Musunuru, a founder of the Heart Institute at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, are co-chairmen for the event.
The banquet will be at the Spartan Manor, 6121 Massachusetts Ave.
Secretary of State Kurt Browning is scheduled to attend as a guest. Browning was Pasco County supervisor of elections for two decades prior to being named secretary of state.
A reception will be held at 5 p.m. to be followed by the governor's remarks and dinner.
The proceeds will help support home care for the frail elderly and CARES specialized support services.
