Boy did Charley get it wrong in his Oct. 13 op-ed page column, "I'd Swap Bush and Congress for Putin." Putin is bad, and part of the great Soviet practice of deception.
We have loaned Russia billions they will never repay. The American taxpayer will definitely have this added to our debt, including Charley. That is, in a nutshell, how all foreign aid works: American taxpayers are the cosigners without knowing it.
The second part of Reese thesis is true. We need to rid ourselves of all incumbent politicians. They do not have Americans' best interests in mind, only retaining their power and privilege.
"But when a long Train of Abuses and Usurpations, pursuing the same Object, evinces a Design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their Right, it is their Duty, to throw off such Government." From the Declaration of Independence, from statesmen who would revile present-day politicians.
Wake up, America, neither party is worth a toss. Freedom is rapidly eroding.
