TRINITY, Fla. - TRINITY, Fla. - Students, staff and fans at Trinity College of Florida took time out recently to celebrate the Tigers' first pep rally of the year, Midnight Madness, with the launch of its new athletic logo.
Also celebrating its 75th anniversary, the school hopes the new logo would invigorate both players and fans.
The logo features the college's mascot, Titus the Tiger, proudly standing in front of a letter "T" for Trinity and incorporates the school's official colors of black and gold.
"The fans were very enthusiastic and the energy was tremendous," said Al Depoutot, athletic director for Trinity College, of the midnight event, which is a recent tradition for the college.
"This was a great way to begin our basketball season," Depoutot added.
The event showcased the men's basketball team in a scrimmage game, included audience participation in various athletic games and gave away free T-shirts and "Tiger Pride" merchandise to the first 75 fans in attendance.
"Midnight Madness was amazing. It is probably the most fun I have had all semester," said sophomore Rebekah Scarlett. "I really like the new logo. It is new, exciting and fun."
