I'm absolutely shocked that your paper allows Charley Reese to spew his bigoted hatred for the Jewish race. It makes no difference if a majority of readers vote to keep him around, that just makes it worse.
In his Oct. 10 column, "We're Really not a Christian Nation," Reese implies that Jews have "eliminate(d) Christianity from the public square." He also lies by stating that Israel is "persecuting the oldest Christian community in the world." No facts, just hate propaganda to which your paper lends legitimacy.
If Reese wants to make generalizations about Jews, maybe he should consider what Jews have done for America. Remember Haym Solomon, who largely contributed toward financing the American Revolution. Or Albert Einstein, Jonas Salk, Robert Oppenheimer, and Carl Sagan. The list is endless, especially considering the Jews are a small minority in our country.
Reese is a bigot, his column is carried by no major newspapers. His columns are disgraceful, and your editorial board should be ashamed. The Jews have always had their enemies, and Charley Reese is a small man among them.
Remember: There is no Christianity without the Jews. G-d bless the Jews.
