In response to Cheryl Bentley's Sept. 15 "Sex in Chains" op-ed column, what about a senator who gets caught in a bathroom with adulterous intentions? What about his sexual freedom? Unchain him. Let him be "as a wild horse running in the wind."
Come on. Apparently Cheryl Bentley cannot even call adultery wrong or recognize the sleaziness of two strangers meeting in a bathroom to have sex. Does she propose that everyone should be out having sex in public places?
Let's use some common sense. Should children be subjected to these types of "meetings" in public bathrooms? I don't even want to be subjected to them. When a senator goes into a bathroom with the intentions of having sex with some stranger that is outside of the boundaries of private life.
As for religion, if Bentley is suggesting those with religious convictions and who don't want the government to pick up the tab for homosexual relationships should not be allowed to participate in this democracy, then, yes, I would agree with the author that would be "radical." It would also be unconstitutional.
And no, I'm not talking about what consenting adults do in their private lives, regardless of whether I believe it is right or wrong.
