HUDSON, Fla. - HUDSON, Fla. - Four musicians with backgrounds of playing in area bands have recently formed Shotgun, a band dedicated to the sounds they love.

Shotgun's motto is "A Blast from the Past."

The band concentrates on the music of the Baby Boomers, tunes from the kinder, gentler 1960s, '70s and '80s.

"We thought in today's time, with all that's going on, it would be nice to reminisce about the past," said keyboardist Dino Ardina.

"It just kind of clicked," said Ardina describing how the band came together after he heard guitarist and lead vocalist Mike Coleman and bass player and lead vocalist Eric Neubauer play in Knight Sounds, an area classic rock band.

Coleman brings 30 years of experience of playing in bands.

"He can take you from that sweet soul feeling to rocking your socks off," said Ardina.

Formerly a West Pasco resident, Coleman now lives in Tampa.

Neubauer, Ardina, and drummer Roy Groves all have chalked up many years of performing in bands.

Groves and Ardina live in Hudson, Neubauer in New Port Richey.

They will perform at Mango Bay Bar and Grill, 17438 U.S. 19, Hudson, on Friday, Oct. 5, and Saturday, Oct. 6, from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

Additionally, they will play at Governor's Lounge in Hudson Nov. 16.

They are also available for private parties.
