Judging by your first name, you did not experience what I experienced in the 1970's and 80's.
While applying for a taxicab driver's job I was called "baby," not even given an application, just told the job was filled. Yet, my male friend who applied a few hours later was hired.
Working as a security guard, if there was a burglary at another site in the neighborhood, I was fired because they didn't want a girl working the area.
Being a waitress for two years, when a manager position opened up, I was turned down because it was "'improper for a girl to be a manager." Then a young man who knew nothing about running a restaurant, was trained many weeks for the position.

The blame for all this cursing lies with the music, like that filthy rap they listen to. Then there is the media with their foul language. If they are exposed to this they will incorporate it into their everyday language.
Let's not forget the parents who don't teach their kids the most basic manners anymore.
