Apology Owed

Charley Reese's column about honoring the Marines and military was good. However, he still cannot understand why we are in Iraq. We are there to fight the terrorists.

He should apologize for calling the present politicians who got us into war corrupt, stupid and ignorant.

If Bill Clinton, when he was President, would have done something after the first attacks on the World Trade Center in 1993, the bombing of the USS Cole and the Embassies in Africa occurred, we would not have to be in Iraq fighting today.

We also would have two of our family members who got killed in the World Trade Center bombing alive.

But no, he was too busy chasing the young interns.

Reese seems to forget that all the soldiers in Iraq are volunteers. Most of them sign up to return to Iraq after their tour of duty – to keep fighting the terrorists.

Some ex-generals have spoken out against the current president. In my eyes they are nothing but traitors and should be stripped of their medals. A true soldier does not knife-stab his country and president.

Maybe Reese should be sent to Iraq with his mouth.
