HUDSON, Fla. - HUDSON, Fla. - The death of a 4-week-old infant in Hudson appears to be accidental, a bulletin issued this afternoon by the Pasco County Sheriff's Office says.
The baby, Naomi Rose Taylor, born Oct. 8, was discovered not breathing at her home at 15609 Madeline Drive.
The mother, identified as Kayla Marie Hubbard and the baby's father, John Taylor, both 18, reside at the Madeline Drive location.
An autopsy on the infant will be performed by the Pasco-Pinellas Medical Examiner's Office, according to a report from Doug Tobin, a Sheriff's Office spokesman.
Deputies do not suspect foul play at this time and the death appears to be accidental according to a preliminary investigation, Tobin said.
The preliminary investigation shows Naomi Rose was sleeping in the same bed as her mother and father. The parents awoke and discovered the baby was not breathing.
Deputies responded to the Madeline Drive address at 9:18 p.m. on Tuesday evening.
Pasco Fire Rescue personnel attempted to resuscitate the infant while transporting her to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, but she was pronounced dead at the hospital at 9:39 p.m.
