NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. - NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. - NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. - NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. - Residents can ask questions about sinkholes during a free forum this Wednesday.
The Nov. 7 Meet the Experts Sinkhole Education Forum will start with a 6 p.m. reception at the Spartan Manor, 6121 Massachusetts Ave.
David Fisher, the sinkhole ombudsman of the Florida Department of Financial Services, will be among the speakers.
Another expert on the panel will be Tony Gilboy, a hydrologist with the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
In addition, those attending the forum will be able to quiz Anthony F. Randazzo, a professor of geology at the University of Florida and a fellow of the Geological Society of America.
George C. Sinn Jr., a professional engineer with Central Florida Testing Laboratories in Clearwater, will appear as well.
The Florida Association of Sinkhole Stabilization Specialists is sponsoring the free event.
The program will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session from 8 to 8:30 p.m.
Light refreshments will be served.
Reservations are requested since the event is limited to the first 150 people who respond.
