NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. - NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. - Four out of five child safety seats in vehicles are not properly installed.

A free car-seat check will be conducted at All Children's Specialty Care of Pasco, Thursday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the group's parking lot, 4443 Rowan Road, New Port Richey.

All Children's Suncoast Safe Kids Coalition is sponsoring the program. The Pasco Safe Kids Council is a part of the Florida Suncoast Safe Kids Coalition, led by All Children's Hospital.

The primary goal of the group is preventing vehicle-crash injuries and deaths in children ages 14 and younger through education and advocacy efforts.

This includes child passenger safety classes, training and events, drowning prevention campaigns, and pedestrian safety education. The council meets monthly at All Children's Pasco.

Certified technicians from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will be on hand Thursday to check child safety seat and educate families on their proper installation and use.

Giveaways for children and educational material for parents will also be available.

To schedule an appointment for the free check, call the Pasco Center at 727-834-5403.
