Band Doesn't Just Play Music

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. - NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. - A band whose members collectively have half a century of musical experience will entertain audiences in New Port Richey this weekend.
Bard 4 Life will make one of its frequent appearances at Jilly's on Saturday, Dec. 22.
Jilly's was the five-piece Bard's first gig when it began in 2004. According to lead guitarist Jim Gravely, the band plays at Jilly's about every six weeks.
Gravely is also known as Jim Graves.
Other members are: Chris Hart, drums; Lynn Winters, lead singer; Ron Gravely, keyboards; and Lee Seltman, bass.
Ron Gravely, Seltman and Hart have all played with bands that have toured nationally. All the group's members live in the New Port Richey or Hudson areas.
The band plays rock beginning with the 1970s, top 40s and dance music.
They also enjoy rock with an edge, says Jim Gravely, such as in the 1990s music of rock band Stone Temple Pilots and that of rock singer John Mellencamp.
The band brings high energy to its performances.
"We try to get people to participate," said Jim Gravely.
In keeping with the band's name, that includes having people attending Bard 4 Life performances lie on the floor to make chalk outlines of their bodies as at a crime scene and taking "mug shots" that appear on the band's href=http://www.bard4life.com> Web site.
All the group's members have played in area bands for many years.
Jilly's is at 5313 Main St., New Port Richey, just east of U.S. 19. The band plays from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
They will also be at Jilly's on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 25, and 26.
